Sawyer Crawled!!!

Sawyer crawled yesterday for the first time (April 15, 2010). It is more like a snake with one arm and one leg, but it is not rolling and it gets him where he is going. Way to go Sawyer!

Naturals Game

Saturday night we ate dinner at Pointers and then the boys went to the Naturals game. Such a fun night!

Like Father, Like Son

Rodney and his little shadow. CW wants to be just like his Daddy at all times. It is so sweet. They are best buds. I promise I am the Mommy of this boy, even if he does look 100% like his Daddy.

Thursday Afternoons

On Thursdays both boys go to school and they are worn out when they get home. Here they are just kickin' back!

Mommy's Bunco Night

Once a month we have bunco night and while I was out with the girls, Rodney had over the Beans. Well, not their mommy - she was at the "mommy meeting" as CW calls Bunco. The kids had a blast playing in the newly cleaned garage (thank you Rodney). I think the Daddies had fun, too.

Easter

We had a great Easter. Very low key. The Easter bunny did come. Before you say anything he came for Sawyer too but Sawyer got up late and I recorded him on video with his basket but forgot to get a picture. He felt bad all day so he wasn't much into the Easter bunny. Our attempt at a family photo could have been better, but we did our best. Church was fantastic. I cooked dinner and we had Thomas Jenkins (a former IBC youth) and our friend Paul and Amanda over to eat. We ate, hung out and flew a kite. Just a nice, relaxed Sunday. CW was so into the resurrection eggs this year. He remembered almost what every item in the egg stood for. He told about the soldiers beating Jesus with such compassion it brought tears to my eyes. He couldn't understand why anyone would want to hurt Jesus. All day he kept saying his verse, "Jesus isn't here, He's RISEN!" We are so thankful that he has. Thank you Jesus for loving us that much!!!!

Sawyer at 10 months!

Talk about a month of changes. This 10th month has been one! Sawyer has matured so much this past month. He talks all the time. Calls for moma, dada, buba, and walker. His hair has grown so much. We were going to trim the mullet but were met with much opposition from the grandmas so it is still long and I love it! Sawyer has taught himself to sit up from laying down and is so proud that when I come to get him in the morning he can sit up and turn on his music. He does a little morning dance for me and I love it. This little munchkin loves to move to the music. I think it is his momma coming out in him for sure. We also learned that he is VERY allergic to penicillin - unfortunately we learned this while Rodney was in Africa and I was in Batesville. Little Sausey looked horrible for about 5 days. I am blessed to say that is the only time I have ever taken one of my children to the ER. Let's hope it was the last. Sawyer bounced back nicely but still couldn't get the hang of table foods. I am still concerned he may have reflux. I spent a week changing clothes constantly because of throw up. But a week before he turned 11 months it just clicked. He is not very interested in baby food and he is VERY interested in anything you are eating. He also puts everything in his mouth so I have to keep an eye on him for sure. He is so close to crawling. He scoots on his booty, rolls, drags himself like a snake and even tries to pull up. Maybe we will skip crawling all together. He likes to turn off the light for you. He ducks his head into his Mommy when he meets a new person. He has three top teeth and two bottom. He can also wave bye bye and say bye. When I say bye and hang up the phone he always says bye. But he refuses to perform any of his tricks for anyone, so don't ask. It has been amazing the changes in the last month. We love seeing his personality continue to develop. He is his own person and we are already so proud of him. The day before he turned 11 months he started crawling (sort of) and waving Bye Bye!! Changing so fast!

Sawyer at 9 Months

Our 9th month wasn't so fun. I guess that is why I am just now blogging about it. It was full of ear infections and stomach bugs and teething. Poor little Sawyer. He hasn't been interested in eating table food or much baby food for that matter. Who feels like eating when they are sick all the time? He is still as sweet as ever and still refuses to crawl. Table food makes him gag but he loves his bottle. He loves to people watch when we are out. So observant. His lack of appetite has brought him down to 22 pounds. Still a big chubby boy and his mommy loves him so much. We are so ready for Spring and no more sickness. Sawyer is still my laid back sweetie and I am so thankful for him!

Getting ready for Easter

Saturday night we died eggs, played and acted silly. I love my boys!!!

Spring Soccer

Saturday was our second Spring soccer practice/game. Carter Wayne had a blast. He has a great coach focused on the kids having fun and learning the game. CW was so excited because we got him some new soccer shoes. He said they made him run really, really fast!

Easter Egg Hunt

We starter our Saturday with the Mayor's Easter Egg Hunt. We met our buddies Caroline and Noah. It was lots of fun and the weather was PERFECT! Carter Wayne was a little shy with the Easter Bunny and Sawyer didn't like him that much. But finding eggs was exciting and quick. Easter Egg Hunts are one thing you just can't be late to!
