Guy's Weekend

This weekend I got to attend the Beth Moore Simulcast at my church so the boys were on their own - for the most part. They headed out to the square with some guys from Connection Group and had a big time. They even went back on Saturday. Good get away time for Mommy and great bonding time for Daddy. Can you tell that Rodney is really ready for Razorback Football?

Promotion Sunday

This past Sunday was the start of a new year at church. CW promoted to "Thrilling Three's" and Sawyer, well he's only been going to church for a month so he didn't promote. Rodney and I taught a 4 year old class, which we will do once a month. It was an exciting day and lots of fun. We also started back our connection group and it was wonderful to hang out with everyone. I am ready for Fall and more scheduled weeks. I am so over summer.

Friday Nights On the Square

The summer has been so crazy that last weekend was our first chance to go to the square on a Friday night. Music on the square, the fountain,the park, and driving around town with my favorite boys. It gives you one of those moments you know you'll think back on 30 years from now and say, "those were the good ole' days". Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of family. May I never take it for granted.

Silly Boys

One thing I hope our boys learn from us is how to have a good time. Life is too short not to laugh a little.

IBC Youth

One of the things we miss most about Little Rock are the awesome kids at IBC. Since we have left these kids continue to get older - imagine that! We were blessed to have two of those youth come to our house a few weeks ago. One of the perks of living close to the U of A. John and Thomas are such great guys and Carter Wayne had a blast with them. Thanks for hanging out with us!

Sleepover at NeeNee and PawPaw's

Having a new brother has not been the easiest adjustment for Carter Wayne. But he has been a trooper. He recently got some special individualized attention from his NeeNee and PawPaw. On a Friday night we met them in Clarksville and CW spent the weekend with them, probably getting everything he wanted. But that's what grandparents are for! He had the best time and bawled when we picked him up on Sunday evening, he didn't want to leave them. Thanks NeeNee and PawPaw for giving CW a special weekend and his parents some one on one time with Sawyer. We love you!!!

Swimming with Buddies

We have been so blessed by our new church. We have the best small group! The couples are so nice and there are kids both Carter Wayne's age and Sawyer's age. It will be fun to watch them all grow up together. Here is Carter Wayne at the pool with two of his buddies, Lance and Dayson. They were enjoying some cookies that Dayson's mom brought - I mean REALLY enjoying them.

Here is Sawyer stretching after the long trip home from Batesville. He loves to stretch out in nothing but a diaper. He is getting so big!

Pa's 80th Birthday

We celebrated Pa Greenfield's birthday in early August. It was great to get to go to Batesville and see everybody. The boys had a blast! Happy Birthday Pa, we love you!

The Crew

Ashley Hooten and Ashley Pointer have been my best buds for a long time. I can't imagine high school without them... or my wedding or the birth of my kids, etc. All of our sweet kiddos are very close in age and we were able to get them all together a few weeks ago. Needless to say, it was wild. From left to right - Carter Wayne (3), Sawyer (2 months), Ashley Pointer's kids - Caroline (1), Noah (3) and Ashley Hooten's kids Cline (3) and Chloe (7 months). Swimming with Olivia Grace

Last week we went swimming with Olivia Grace and Leslie. Carter Wayne is really warming up to the pool. He wasn't too into it at first. Sawyer slept the whole time we were there. The pool wears him out. Carter Wayne loves his Olivia Grace and Leslie and "Mr. Brent that helps sick kids" (that's what he calls him). We had a blast! Thanks girls for inviting us!

A couple of weeks ago my friend Jaime came to see all of us that had made the move to Northwest. She stayed with Leslie and we had a girls night and a little Saturday shopping. We had so much fun in college when we roomed together. I loved living on DZ circle in our little duplex. We had some good times. Thanks for coming to visit, Jaime.

Staycation and Potty Training Boot Camp

At the end of July Rodney got a few days off work so we decided to have a "staycation". You know where you vacation at home as opposed to going somewhere and spending a lot of money. We went to local parks and the local pool and other places like that. It was fun but I don't recommend it - you still have to do laundry. Our main objective in staying home was for Rodney to conduct his Potty Training Boot camp on Carter Wayne. We began this process back in January and were very successful, until about a month before Sawyer's arrival when CW decided he didn't want to use the potty anymore. He let us know this by peeing on the floor at McAlister's and Melody's Choices. His reasons? He wanted to wear diapers like a baby and he wasn't going to pee in the potty because he wasn't getting anymore new trains. Can't argue with that. Fast forward to Potty Training Boot camp. It mostly consisted of CW running around the house naked or without bottoms for 5 days. I think he enjoyed that part of it. Yes, he did pee on the floor some and pooped on the floor twice. The next time you come to my house you will be wondering exactly where that happened, but I'll never tell. Finally we had given up and Rodney told him if he didn't want to be a big boy then he could just go back to wearing diapers. CW bawled and said he did want to be a big boy and went back and used the potty. He has been using it ever since. He is so into being a big boy. He won't even let me help at all and last night he closed the door for privacy. What in the world! Moral to the story, kids are going to use the potty when they want to - or maybe just my kid.

Two Months Old and Ready for Sunday School

On July 26th Sawyer got to go to Sunday school for the first time. He got to go because he has had his two months shots. We took he and Carter Wayne to the doctor for check ups on the 24th. Sawyer weighed 12 pounds 8 ounces (50th percentile) and he was 24 inches long (75th percentile). He has smiled and giggled. He actually giggled before he smiled. Rodney can get him to giggle and that little boy never moves his mouth. It is really funny. He sleeps through the night and is starting to have good head control. His personality is emerging and I think he is going to be more like Rodney. Most days he is just taking it all in and with Carter Wayne as a big brother there is alot to take in! Carter Wayne loved showing Sawyer where his new class would be, telling him not to cry when we dropped him off, and asking for him when we went to pick him up. Showing his little bro the ropes already.So sweet!
