CW's Last Soccer Game and First Goal

Last Saturday was Carter Wayne's last soccer game. He wanted to wear his sunglasses the whole game. It was so cute. He had a great game. It was as if everything clicked and he really got in there after the ball. He was even guarding the goal. Also, Carter Wayne made his first goal! It was so exciting and he was so happy. We have had a great month of games and we will definitely play again next year. Rodney, the best assistant coach ever, plans to coach again, too.

Branson

Last weekend we went to Branson for the day. We were going to go to Silver Dollar city with our Connection Group. But we all have little babies and it was just too cold. The boys and I still wanted to get out of town for the day and do some shopping. Carter Wayne is growing out of everything. We also wanted to celebrate! Rodney applied for a new position at Wal-Mart and got it! He is the new Senior Manager of Compliance and will be moving to home office. This is a big step up for him and we are just so proud. Wal-Mart is a perfect fit for Rodney and it is so wonderful to see him so happy with his career. We love you, Daddy!

Olivia Grace turns 4!

Olivia Grace had the BEST cowboy birthday party at the beginning of October. Pony rides, cupcakes, stick horse races, rodeo clowns. It was so fun! We love our Olivia Grace - Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Sawyer at 4 Months

Sawyer turned 4 months on September 19th. He had a great check up. He is in the 90th percentile on weight, height, and head. He weighed 17 pounds at the visit! He is a big one. Sawyer sleeps through the night. He goes to bed at 7 to 7:30pm and usually wakes up for a bottle at 4:30 or 5 and then goes back to sleep. He takes a short nap in the morning, usually in his car seat as we are headed to wherever we are going. Or he sleeps in the swing by my bathroom while I shower - he is safer there from his big brother. He also takes a long nap in the afternoon. He likes his rice cereal and he LOVES his bottle. He takes 6 ounces 6 to 7 times a day. To quote one of the ladies at church, "Sawyer is as good as gold - as long as you have the bottles and you keep them coming." Sawyer still smiles his sweet little grin and laughs without opening his mouth. He could have a mouth full of teeth and we wouldn't see. He likes to suck on his hand and his favorite toy is a dragonfly. He will go to anyone and he always wants to be able to see what his brother is doing. Actually, I think Carter Wayne is his favorite toy! Sawyer is laid back and happy and we just love him to death!

Sawyer's first rice cereal

Sawyer turned 4 months old on September 19th so it was time to start the rice cereal. It was a pretty good first experience. He was interested and even gummed the spoon. Carter Wayne helped me pick Sawyer out new bowls, spoons, and bibs at Wal-Mart. Heaven forbid we use any of his things. CW really enjoyed helping baby brother eat, too. I think Sawyer will be easy to feed. Whenever we are all eating he always looks at us so intently, I feel bad because it always looks like he wants some.

On September 29th the Thunder rolled into Gravette ready to play some soccer. CW loved his new uniform. The shin guard socks, underarmor shirt, the whole thing. Rodney was a great assistant coach and the kids did great. My hope was for CW to only cry twice and I am happy to say he only cried once and got over it pretty quickly. He loves running up and down the field and playing with his new friends. Our goal in playing this year is for him to enjoy being on a team and playing a sport, that way he will want to do it again. I don't think we won the game, but they were very cute!

CW's First Soccer Practice

Carter Wayne's first soccer practice was the end of September. He is playing in Gravette because it is laid back, cheap, and allows 3 year olds to play. Rodney is helping coach these little cuties. There are 10 kids and they range in age from 3 to 6. The head coach, Casey, told the kids the first rule is to have fun and the second rule is to have more fun. I like that type of coaching. Carter Wayne cried two times because he has never had to share the soccer ball. At home he gets to make all the goals. So we will have to work on that a little. But, he had a great time, loves his new shirt and especially loved going to McDonald's afterwards.
