Christmas Eve

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve service at our church and then headed home for more presents and dinner. The boys got new pjs and slippers that they loved. Sawyer pretended that his Lightening McQueen slippers made him drive "very fast" around the living room. It was so funny. Carter Wayne was so excited to leave cookies, chocolate milk, and green onions (reindeer food) for Santa. It took them forever to go to sleep. Sawyer kept coming out of his room saying he wanted to see Santa. Carter Wayne was getting so mad at him because he thought Santa wouldn't come if Sawyer kept getting up. Carter Wayne said he could hear the jingle bells. They finally went to sleep. Such a fun night.

Christmas Eve Day

We had a fun Christmas Eve day. My parents came over for lunch and then they gave their presents to the boys and us. We enjoyed our laid back day. The boys were beside themselves with excitement for Christmas. Such a sweet time.

Last Minute Branson Trip

We decided to make a trip to Branson the weekend before Christmas. We had the best time! Carter Wayne went once when he was two and Sawyer had never been.So it was all new to them. They loved the train, the kids' area, the swings, and the parade. Carter Wayne even rode two big roller coasters. I couldn't believe it. We had some sweet family time and really got into the Christmas spirit. Oh how blessed I am to be married to Rodney and have these two precious boys. It is everything I could have ever dreamed of for my life. I am so very thankful.

Small Group Christmas Party

For our small group Christmas party we had an "Ugly" Christmas sweater party. I just love this group of young marrieds. Just a bunch of young newlywed sweeties. They are really blessing mine and Rodney's lives. We had pot luck food, dirty Santa gifts, and a crazy tournament of Catch Phrase that the girls won in sudden death. We took some fun pics, and not to worry those are sparkling cider bottles not Dom, so don't go calling our Pastor. ;) Looking forward to 2012 with this sweet group of couples!

Seeing Santa

Going to visit Santa was an experience this year. If he was basing gifts on this visit, Sawyer would be on the naughty list. In his defense, he told us he didn't want to see Santa. He wanted to ride on the quarter rides in the mall. Well, Sawyer doesn't do what Sawyer doesn't want to do. But this momma was getting her Santa picture. He screamed and cried while Carter Wayne beamed from ear to ear. CW loves visiting Santa, he thinks they are old friends. As Rodney was trying to get Sawyer to be still, Santa said to Carter Wayne, "Your brother is scaring me." CW said "I know." Nice. I got my picture, it is not cute but we did it so mark it off the list. I framed the picture and put it on a table with all the other Santa pics from CW's first Christmas to now. Sawyer will walk by the picture from this year and say, "I don't want to sit in your lap Santa, I don't like you." Well, good thing we didn't do "Elf on the shelf" this year because I am sure that little rant would have been reported. Ho, Ho, Ho!

Hosting Christmas Bunco

I had the honor of hosting our Christmas Bunco this year. It was so much fun. I served white chicken enchiladas, salad, chips/salsa, and strawberry cake. We also did a gift exchange. It is neat to be part of such a sweet group of girls that always make me laugh. Bunco was definitely invented for fun, not skill. That is why it is so easy to talk during the game. We tried to do a funny picture but we needed to plan that out a bit. Which turned out goofy, but cute. Fun times!
