Sawyer's 2 Year check up

At Sawyer's two year appointment he weighed 34 pounds and he was 34 inches long. What a guy! One of the tubes in his ear has already fallen out and the other is working its way on out. Sawyer has turned into quite a feisty little booger. He will lay down and throw quite the tantrum, but since he is the 2ND it doesn't upset me. I guess I know it is not the end of the world and this stage will pass. He mimics EVERYTHING his brother does. The funniest is when CW says"I need to pee" and then little Sawyer says, "I wanna pee too!" Some would say potty train that boy but I am in no hurry. I was a little scarred from the potty training experience with CW. Sawyer is ruff and tuff and afraid of nothing. He is a late sleeper and he takes a long afternoon nap. He loves his bed. When he goes to bed we lay him in the crib and CW says a prayer over him. We say "close your eyes, Sawyer" and he puts his little fists on his eyes. At the end of the prayer he says "Ahh - men". Then CW turns on his music and slams the door and turns the light off. We all scream and Sawyer laughs. I love this ritual. Sawyer loves to have books read to him. He adores trains but is really into Cars the movie and Lightening McQueen. He can say just about anything. I love it when he says "lub u too moma". He loves to run and he has a very deep laugh which is hilarious! I love him and could just eat him up everyday - except when he throws his little tantrums and yells NOOOOOO. But other than that he is perfect!

Last Day at KDO

We had such a wonderful year at our church's new Kids Day Out program. The boys had a blast and I enjoyed all the sweet ladies I got to work with. The boys have learned so much since the beginning of the year. Sawyer started the year not walking and now he could run a marathon. He knows the colors red, green, yellow and blue. And he can spot an "S" from a mile away. He has adored his teachers Ms.Lindsey and Ms.Kristi and all his little friends in class, especially his little girlfriend, Avery, who he calls Sissy. She calls him Saw. So sweet!
Carter Wayne has learned so much too! This year he has learned to write his name (and Carter Wayne is a long one). He can count to 39 and write in an "I see" journal. It is amazing. His teachers Ms.Cathy and Ms.Lou Ann have worked with him and taught him so much. We are very proud of our little sweetie. We have made the decision not to send him to Kindergarten next year which is a whole other post for another day. But I feel wonderful about where CW is and where he is headed. The Lord has given me a peace about it, which is all I can ask for. So thankful for this great year we have had and so excited about starting summer!

Memorial Day Cook-Out

On Memorial Day my dad grilled burgers and we just hung out outside. The boys swam some more and then they did art projects with NeeNee. It was the perfect weekend, but we were missing our daddy and were ready to see him. He seemed to have missed us a lot too. Happy Memorial Day and we are so thankful for all the men and women who serve our country and the families that have to be without them when they serve. Their sacrifices mean so much. God bless America!

Memorial Day #3

We went downtown to watch the Fireworks on Sunday night and the boys had so much fun! We all did. The fireworks did not disappoint and the boys had late naps so they were feeling good. There were so many sweet moments that night. The boys hugged up on me, my mom, my dad, and EVEN each other! I have the sweetest boys!!!

Memorial Day #2

My parents always take us to Cracker Barrel when we visit and the boys love it! It is kind of "our place". Notice how these little stinkers wouldn't look at the camera!

Memorial Day #1

We had the best Memorial day weekend! We left Friday for my parents' house and stayed till Tuesday. We left Rodney so he could have time to work on his Africa trip that is coming up. They have him preaching two sermons! This is totally out of his comfort zone but when we are weak, He is strong! So we left Rodney home for some time with the Lord - a little quiet time never hurt anyone. My parents bought this great kiddie pool for the boys and they had a blast in it all weekend. It made them EXTRA hungry and tired which is always a good combination!

The Silvey's

We finally had our buddies the Silvey's over in May. It was during the first round of storms that hit our area so the night ended with the kids sitting in the bathtub and the guys running in and out of the house alerting us of the weather. It is always an adventure when these two families get together!
