Getting Better!!

After 10 days of sickness my baby is finally feeling better! This afternoon he even asked for orange chips and ketchup. He is so like his Uncle Craig - he always ate ketchup on everything. I think he still does- so gross! :-) So glad Mr. Saws is getting back to normal - bad eating habits and all!

Valentine Secrets

Today we started working on Carter Wayne's valentines for school. A few valentines in he asked which one said "Be my Valentine"? I gave it to him and he said, "this one is for Ashland! Then he said he wanted her to have the one with the biggest heart. I just said "oh?" CW then asked me if I wanted to know why he was giving the biggest heart to Ashland. Well, of course I do. He said proudly, "Because I like her! She doesn't know I like her because I haven't told her I do. Momma, please don't tell her I like her." I vowed not to as my little heart broke. :-/ And so it begins...

Birthday Party

Yesterday I got to get out from the house of sickness to take Carter Wayne to a birthday party. His best bud at school, David, had his party at the YMCA. It was a sports party with lots of running around so Carter Wayne had a blast. David's mom, Bonnie, and I are co-room moms and we have had such a good time planning stuff for the class. I will say room mom can be a full time gig. So busy! We are blessed to have CW at a school with so many programs and so much parental support. Last night my parents came over so Rodney and I could get out a bit. It has kept my sanity! I don't do well being cooped up. Sawyer is slowly getting better but still not eating so he's weak. I know it wasn't the flu but might as well been with how long he has been down. Hopefully this week will be better.

Sick

Poor Sawyer has been sick since Saturday! Poor little guy. We have been in the house all week, but to change things up we rest in different spots around the house. :-) Hoping this sweet baby gets better soon. Seems like each year the sickness gets worse and worse all around. Maybe February will be more healthy!

100 Days of Kindergarten

Today Carter Wayne celebrated 100 days of kindergarten! He made a "necklace" of 10 bags each holding 10 items. He made it himself and he was very proud if it. At school they made "100" hats. It was quite a site to see him crossing the street after school with this hat on; he was wearing the biggest smile! I am so proud of this boy and how hard he is working at school. Love him so much!!!

DIY Weekend

This weekend was pretty low key since I have a house full of sick kids. Have I mentioned I hate January?!? Bring on Spring! I did clean the house which inspired Rodney to do some projects around the house. He removed the brass cover from the fireplace and cleaned it out- major update! I love the rustic look. He replaced the white cloth shades in the kitchen, ones that came with the house, with new bamboo shades. I love them! We also finally got some of our Malawian art framed and hung in the living room. I love it so much that I want him to get some more when he heads back. We are still waiting to hear from the immigration department about Peter's visa. We hope to be planning Rodney's trip back to get Peter in a couple of weeks. We want him here so much. Trusting in God's timing.

Good Weather and Good Times

This Saturday the weather was gorgeous!! Carter Wayne has been asking to have a picnic with my picnic basket all winter. Today he got his wish! The boys spread out on the back lawn and Carter Wayne kept bringing out food to make sandwiches. They even got ice cream when the ice cream truck came by. Yes, our ice cream truck even runs in January. ;-) such a fun day and a great memory. These boys have needed some time outside. Cold weather is brutal on a mom of boys- they have energy to burn!!
